How do I know if I have mental health benefits?
The best way to find out is to call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Ask specifically whether outpatient mental health services are covered, whether a referral is required, and what your copay or deductible looks like for those services.
What is a copay?
A copay is a fixed amount you pay at the time of each session, regardless of the total cost of the service. For example, your plan might require a $30 copay per therapy session, with your insurance covering the rest.
What is a deductible?
A deductible is the amount you must pay out of pocket each year before your insurance begins covering costs. If you haven't met your deductible yet, you may be responsible for the full session fee until that amount is reached.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
A sliding scale is not available at this time. However, if cost is a concern, I encourage you to reach out — I'm happy to talk through your options and find an approach that works for you.
