Lara is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern (RMHCI) working through a trauma-informed, person-centered lens. She draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients navigate life's challenges in a way that feels authentic to them.
Lara earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida's Clinical Psychology Master's program. While completing her degree, she accumulated over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical experience at Orlando Health's Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, where she worked predominantly with individuals in the early stages of rehabilitating from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, falls, and limb amputations.
Following her time at Orlando Health, Lara joined Lifetime Counseling Center, a community mental health counseling center serving Brevard County. There, she provided need-based and low-cost counseling services to kids, teens, and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges and life difficulties. Lara currently practices at Blue Cat Therapy, where she continues to support clients in a private practice setting.
